The White Sox made a pair of roster moves prior to Thursday night’s game vs. Tampa Bay.

The team announced that starting pitcher Lucas Giolito has been reinstated from the Bereavement List while reliever Tanner Bankas has been optioned to Triple-A Charlotte.

Giolito, 28, is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA (14 ER/28.0 IP) and 28 strikeouts over five starts this season. Having made his last outing on Sunday against the Rays, the right-hander will end up not missing his next turn in the rotation as he is scheduled to start Friday night’s game.

Banks, meanwhile, has gone 0-0 with a 3.38 ERA (3 ER/8.0 IP) and five strikeouts in four relief appearances since being recalled from Charlotte on April 14. With the bullpen being rather thin, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the left-hander up again at some point later in the season.
