Garrett Crochet is getting closer to making his major league return.

The White Sox announced today that the lefty reliever will continue his rehab assignment with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. Though no timetable has been given for his return, one could make the assumption that he could be back in Chicago as early as next week.

Crochet, 23, is currently on the 15-day Injured List (retroactive to March 27) as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. The former first-round pick missed the entire 2022 season due to the procedure, which was done on his left elbow last April. Crochet has already made three appearances with Double-A Birmingham on his rehab assignment. The southpaw has thrown 3.1 IP, where he’s given up four earned runs on five hits while striking out four and walking three.

Along with Crochet, White Sox closer Liam Hendriks and third baseman Yoan Moncada will continue with their rehab assignments in the Queen City during the early half of this week. Manager Pedro Grifol said in today’s pregame comments that Moncada could return as early as this weekend ahead of the Houston series, while Hendriks figures to be on a similar timeline to Crochet.
