Yoan Moncada Leaves Friday’s Game With Hamstring Tightness

The injury bug claims another victim on the White Sox staff.

Yoan Moncada left the game after injuring his right hamstring while running out a ground ball in his first at-bat in the second inning. He would appear in the bottom of the second on defense, but would be pulled out of the game before the bottom of the third inning. He was replaced by Josh Harrison in the lineup.

Moncada has been struggling throughout this season, but was coming off a series against Detroit during which he was 7-for-14, including a 5-for-6 effort on Wednesday afternoon. Any long-term injury for Moncada keeps the door open for Jake Burger at 3B, while also increases the likelihood once again that Yolbert Sanchez might find time on the major league roster. Sanchez would likely only make an appearance in a long-term absence for Moncada.

We will let you know more about Moncada’s condition and just how long he might be out as it becomes available.

Do you think it might be possible to make it thru a whole game this season without someone coming off injured?
