Some major developments in both the Manny Machado and Bryce Harper sweepstakes occurred on Sunday.

    • Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the White Sox have offered Manny Machado an 8-year deal and could potentially go longer than that.

    • Hector Gomez of Z101 Digital followed up Passan’s report and said along with the 8-years, Machado was offered $250 million.

    • In addition to this, Bob Nightengale of USA Today wrote earlier in the day that the Philadelphia Phillies have become the “clear-cut favorite” for Bryce Harper after a 5-hour meeting with him on Saturday. Nightengale also added that barring any unexpected developments in negotiations, it appears that Bryce Harper will be heading to Philadelphia and Manny Machado will be going to the White Sox.
