This morning, the White Sox announced that Bryan Ramos was being sent down to Triple-A Charlotte. The team has not announced a corresponding move yet, though it is possible that this could be to make room for Luis Robert Jr. as he completes his rehab assignment with the Knights.

Ramos, 22, was surprisingly promoted to the big leagues a few weeks ago despite struggling in Birmingham to start the season. In 48 plate appearances with the White Sox, Ramos did look a bit overmatched, hitting just .196/208/.239 with a 23 wRC+ while posting a -1 Outs Above Average (OAA) at third base while filling in for Yoan Moncada.

For now, Danny Mendick will likely get the majority of the playing time while awaiting Yoan Moncada’s return. Ramos will likely get some at-bats and develop further down in Charlotte before – hopefully – making a return at some point this season to the big leagues.

We will continue to provide updates as we learn more about who may be coming up to fill Ramos’ spot on the roster.
