Laura Wolff/Charlotte Knights

The Charlotte Knights kicked off their 10th season at Truist Field Tuesday night for their home opener against the Norfolk Tides. Robbie Grossman made his first-ever appearance with the team and he certainly showcased his talent at the plate. With no runs through eight innings, a solo home run from him finally sparked some momentum within the lineup.

Down nine runs in the ninth inning, Max Stassi singled on a ground ball to center field scoring Danny Mendick, then Grossman dazzled once again with a grand slam to left field. To note, Stassi who is battling left hip inflammation, began his rehab assignment, and infielder Taishi Nakawake also joined the roster. This and more in last night’s recap!

FINAL: Tides 10, Knights 6

W: Cade Povich (1-0) | L: Johan Dominguez (0-1)
