The White Sox doubled their win total tonight with a 7-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The first inning featured a White Sox offense that equaled their production in the previous five games combined, pushing across five runs. Five hits in six batters, highlighted by doubles from Lenyn Sosa and Kevin Pillar, fueled the first-inning frenzy.

The rest of the game was less smooth. A Josh Naylor two-run homer in the bottom half of the first tightened the scoreline. In the second inning, Yoan Moncada injured himself running to first base. The initial appraisal of the injury is a left adductor strain.

The Guardians cobbled together two more runs against Michael Soroka and an additional against Tim Hill to tie the game at five. Dominic Fletcher saved the day in the eighth with a two-run doubled to put the White Sox ahead 7-5. Michael Kopech recorded his first save of the year, touching triple digits on the radar gun, as the White Sox moved to 2-9.
