9:20 PM (CT) – According to reports, multiple people were involved in a shooting incident inside Guaranteed Rate Field during Friday night’s White Sox game against the Athletics.

A recording from a Chicago-area police scanner can be heard saying there were three victims involved that took place around sections 161 and 162. It is not entirely known at what point during the game the alleged shooting occurred, though two of the victims are believed to have suffered injuries. The third person was unharmed.

“There is blood in section 162 of the White Sox’s stadium park,” a voice can be heard saying on the scanner. They go on to repeat, “There is blood in the stands in section 162.”

At this point, there are three known victims according to the recording. The first sustained a gunshot graze to the stomach. A second victim is reportedly a female who suffered a gunshot graze wound to the leg and was transported by ambulance to the University of Chicago. Voices on the scanner can be heard saying, “There’s supposedly a lot of blood.” A third person, also a female, was hit by the bullet but did not sustain any injuries.

Additionally, a live round was reportedly recovered by security inside the stadium and taken to the Gate 4 security office.

The White Sox have not provided any sort of statement at this time, but did cancel their postgame concert due to “technical issues.” The following message was shown on the stadium’s videoboard at the conclusion of the game:

“Attention Fans. Due to technical issues, tonight’s postgame concert has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Fans holding on-field passes will receive a refund to the original purchaser’s credit card.”

I am amazed there was anyone at an A’s vs White Sox game. Probably someone shot themselves vs. having to watch the game.

Mr. Mark

The White Sox will probably have to hire a TOUR-GUIDE to find the A’s next season if they are on their travel schedule. Been an, A’s / Giant / Bay Area fan, since my earliest memories in 1960. Sad to see what A’s ownership has done to this, (Once-Proud), organization in the past handful of years. The,”MAUSOLEUM”, was the last of the Multi-purpose, Baseball / Football stadiums, (But The Raiders Cut-Bait). Now, with Backed-up toilets / Falling / Failing Cement Structure Everywhere,,, It’s an OVERALL-EMBARASSMENT ! !
FIeld of ,,, Nitemares –
Hopefully their, (new spot in Vegas ?), Will be a Great / New Beginning, for The Green & Gold !

Mr. Mark

A Gaurenteed Rate of Violence Stadium produced two gunshot victims Fri. Nite.
As if Chicago wasn’t violent enough, (now it seems), you must risk your life if you want to attend a Chi-Sox game ? Whether
the shot came from within or from outside the Yard, (it will probably), cut into their, (24th in per game attendance), stats. Being 22 games out of the Wold-Card race will not help.
Sad for Chicago / Sad for Baseball ,,,

John

Chicago, how’s your gun ordinance working out. What a joke.

Thomas Hall

For your information, a lot of the problem is with guns coming in from neighboring Indiana and other states, which have much laxer gun laws. A Chicago Police report stated that less than half of guns used in violent crimes originate in Illinois!

Jim

Atheist team offering meaningless thoughts. The woke abyss.

Thomas Hall

Could you explain the above statement to me, please?
