White Sox outfielder Brooks Baldwin left Friday’s game with left hip soreness, the team announced on social media.

Baldwin, 25, was 0-for-2 with a strikeout at the time of his removal in the sixth inning. With Luis Robert Jr. already out for the rest of the season, Michael A. Taylor will likely take over Baldwin’s duties in centerfield during any prolonged absence.

So far this season, Baldwin has appeared in 90 games for the White Sox, batting .236/285/.384 with 9 home runs, 31 RBIs, and a .669 OPS over 276 at-bats. His Statcast metrics have shown improvements offensively in areas like his power and quality of contact, while his defensive versatility has led to time at all three outfield spots as well as second base, third base, and shortstop.

We will continue to monitor Baldwin’s health and provide any additional updates as we get them.
