by Brendan Gallian
6 minutes read

While the White Sox put a hurting on the Cubs with their newfound offense, bats were mostly quiet down on the farm. The Knights, Barons, and DSL White Sox all scored three runs or fewer, and only George Wolkow homered on the day.

Wolkow’s homered powered a dramatic Cannon Ballers comeback, Hagen Smith punched out six for the Barons, and Yoendrys Gómez was masterful in another Knights’ shutout.

All this and more in today’s minor league recap!

Triple-A Charlotte Knights (49-50)

The Knights won their second straight shutout, blanking the Nashville Sounds 3-0. Charlotte bats mustered only two hits, but Yoendrys Gómez dazzled on the mound, punching out eight across five innings. The Knights scored the game’s only runs in the first inning after drawing three walks in a row followed by a wild pitch and two sac flies.
