Spring Training Report: A’s Walk, Slug Their Way to 14-4 Victory

by Jordan Lazowski

Well, it wasn’t a very eventful day for the White Sox. There were many struggles from the bullpen (which didn’t feature too many prominent names), and the defense and offense just couldn’t keep up in today’s 14-4 dismantling at the hand of the Athletics. With the loss, the White Sox fell to 8-11-5 on the Spring.

W: Sean Manaea (3-0) L: Lance Lynn (0-1)

Position Players

Not much to report here other than Eloy Jimenez’s injury in LF. The White Sox are calling it “left shoulder discomfort” and he will be re-evaluated tomorrow. Jimenez did have an RBI single before his injury, and Tim Anderson added two hits in the losing effort.

Pitchers

Well, the good news is that Lance Lynn looked pretty good – outside of two home runs, he threw some good pitches in today’s game. Evan Marshall and Codi Heuer both looked good – which is the only important part of a rather underwhelming performance from the bullpen in today’s game that featured an inning with SIX walks.
