Luis Robert Jr. exits game with right hip flexor injury

by Joe Binder

Luis Robert Jr. is the latest White Sox player to suffer an injury.

After the game, manager Pedro Grifol said it was a right hip flexor for injury. This is obviously not good news for the center fielder, who suffered the same injury in 2021 and missed several months.

The incident occurred during the top of the ninth inning while Robert Jr. was running to second base on a double. After rounding first, the center fielder could be seen pulling up in clear discomfort. He was helped off the field by the White Sox training staff immediately after.

This injury came just a few innings after reliever John Brebbia left with right calf soreness. Before that and more notably, designated hitter Eloy Jimenez pulled up midway through his run to first on a ground ball during Sunday’s game. The team revealed that Jimenez suffered a left adductor strain, which has since landed him on the injured list.
