White Sox Update: Reinsdorf meets lawmakers, Getz takes questions

The South Siders’ second full-squad workout of the spring was generally a quiet one for the players, save for some tough injury news for minor-league pitcher Edgar Navarro.

Tuesday’s most interesting tidbits came from the organization and general manager Chris Getz. In conjunction with Related Midwest, the White Sox released a statement regarding legislation necessary for the construction of a potential ballpark in “The 78”. Getz, meanwhile, empathized with fans’ scorn for an internal GM hire and touched on the right field situation.

After reports a few days ago about the need for public money to construct a stadium in “The 78”, Jerry Reinsdorf and property owners Related Midwest met with Springfield lawmakers today.

Regarding the matter, the tandem shared some general comments supporting the project and thanking legislators.
