White Sox Farm Report: May 17, 2023

by Brian Barry

All four White Sox minor league affiliates were in action on Wednesday, with the Double-A Birmingham Barons being the only squad to notch a victory, a 3-2 win over the Rocket City Trash Pandas. Tyler Neslony led the Barons with a three-hit performance, and six different Baron bullpen arms combined to hold Rocket City to two runs in the victory. Birmingham improved to 12-23 with the winning effort.

Over at Truist Field in Charlotte, the Triple-A Knights battled the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railraiders, but ultimately fell short, losing 6-3. Clint Frazier continues to mash down on the farm, however, as his 7th-inning solo shot to center field was his fifth home run since arriving to Charlotte. Infielder Lenyn Sosa provided a solo home run of his own as well, an opposite-field line drive in the bottom of the 8th inning. Sosa has tallied four longballs on the season for the Knights and continues to exude confidence against minor-league pitching. Charlotte fell to three games under .500 in the defeat, and now sits at 19-22.
