Saturday’s World Baseball Classic slate featured 16 teams and eight games. Kyle Teel led the way for White Sox reps with a pair of singles in his tournament debut.

Here’s how all South Side guys, past and present, performed!

Team Japan (2-0)

1-for-4: 2 K

Mune’s lone hit of the game came on an eight-inning single, which had a scorching exit velo of 111.8 mph. With the win, Japan improves to 2-0 and will face Curtis Mead and his undefeated Australia team on Sunday.

FINAL: Japan 8, Korea 6 | Final Score

Team Canada (1-0)

Michael Soroka (RHP)

3.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

The former White Sox pitcher kept Colombia in check, giving up just one earned run over four frames. Soroka threw 30 of 54 pitches for strikes and was credited with the win.

Matt Davidson (INF)

FINAL: Canada 8, Colombia 2 | Box Score

Team Italy (1-0)

Kyle Teel (C)

2-for-4: K

Kyle Teel had a solid debut for Squadra Italia, collecting a pair of singles in four trips to the plate. Fit with espresso home run celebrations in the dugout, the Italians cruised to a blowout victory.

Sam Antonacci (INF)

FINAL: Italy 7, Brazil 0 | Box Score

Team Great Britain (0-2)

Trayce Thompson (RF)

0-for-3: 3 K

The former White Sox outfielder made another highlight reel grab in right, making arguably the best catch of the WBC so far. The robbery only held Great Britain in the game for so long, as Kyle Schwarber‘s mammoth home run broke open the scoring for the U.S.
