Saturday’s Key Players
Edgar Quero
- 3-for-3, 2B, 4 RBI
The White Sox catcher quite literally did it all in Saturday’s game. He recorded a pair of 2-RBI singles and a double at the plate. On the defensive end, he gunned down a runner and successfully overturned a called ball using the ABS challenge system, resulting in a strikeout for right-hander Jordan Hicks.
Dru Baker
- 2-for-3, 2 2B, RBI, 2 R, SB
Acquired in the trade for catcher Matt Thaiss last May, Dru Baker turned in a solid performance on Saturday. His pair of extra base hits resulted in an RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
William Bergolla Jr.
- 2-for-2, RBI, R, SB (1)
Bergolla Jr. followed up his 2-for-2 performance Friday with another one on Saturday. The shortstop singled twice, drove in one, and got his first stolen base of the spring.
Now, let’s take a look at the numbers behind Sunday’s 5-2 win over a split-squad Brewers team. Perhaps the team drew a little inspiration from the USA boys, whom they cheered on before taking the field.
