Even as pitchers and catchers report to Arizona, GM Chris Getz keeps making moves.
The White Sox traded left-handed reliever Bryan Hudson to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations, as first reported by the New York Post’s Joel Sherman. The team later confirmed the move to Sox Machine’s James Fegan.
Hudson, 28, opened the 2025 season with the Brewers before splitting time with their Triple-A affiliate due to control issues. He posted a 4.35 ERA over 10.1 innings in Milwaukee and was later claimed off waivers by the White Sox in August. In total, Hudson finished the season with a combined 0–1 record, 4.80 ERA, and 19 strikeouts across 16 appearances between the two clubs.
Hudson, who owned a far more impressive 1.73 ERA across 43 appearances with the Brewers in 2024, now joins a Mets bullpen that already features two left-handed relievers in A.J. Minter and Brooks Raley. As for the White Sox, the move provides additional financial flexibility as the remainder of the position players report to camp later this week.
