White Sox to debut five-episode documentary series on Tim Anderson

by Joe Binder

Late last week, the White Sox released an obscure teaser video featuring Tim Anderson sitting in front of a camera. It turns out, that was alluding to a unique project highlighting the South Side’s shortstop.

The team dropped an official trailer for “TA7: The Story of Tim Anderson” on Monday morning, a five-part documentary series airing exclusively on the club’s official YouTube channel. One episode is expected to be released each Tuesday at 10 a.m. CDT.

NBC Sports Chicago’s Chuck Garfien spoke with Anderson about the project on today’s White Sox telecast. “Just more in-depth into life,” the shortstop said when asked to describe the series. “You know, kind of tell you about my journey, my story. Hopefully, it’s a better chance for people to understand me, and understand why I play the way I do, and why I move the way I do, and why I’m such the person I am.”

Among those participating in the documentary include White Sox executive VP Kenny Williams, Anderson’s high school and college coaches, current third-base coach Joe McEwing, broadcaster Jason Bennetti, and multi-sport icon Bo Jackson. Each will help tell the story of Anderson from his humble beginnings to current success on the South Side.
