While May (15-12) has been a much better month for the White Sox than April (8-12), there is still an aura of disappointment surrounding the team. The main culprit for this is the disappointing offense that is averaging a measly 3.63 runs per game (4th worst in baseball).
While the team may still be finding its footing offensively, there are still some glaring trends to look at that can make you money when betting on them. Let’s dive into some!

Will the White Sox Ever Score Some Runs?
As of late, when the Sox do win, it has been in relatively unspectacular fashion. Since May 2nd, in games the White Sox have won, the under has hit 12 out of 15 times. For the sake of accountability, I mentioned in my previous article that more White Sox overs would hit when they started winning more ball games. I could not have been more wrong. This team has won solely on the strength of its pitching. As a result of this stretch, unders are now hitting at a 57% clip in White Sox games (6th most in baseball) overall this season. If the White Sox aren’t going to have an exciting offense, you may as well make yourself some money by betting the under in their games.

Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the slow start this year is that this was a season that started with World Series aspirations. The White Sox have dug themselves into a hole by stumbling out of the gate, and oddsmakers have taken notice. People that made large futures bets on the White Sox before the season have most likely begun to sweat during this slow start. Now, baseball is a marathon, and teams can get hot at the right time (see Atlanta last year). However, the White Sox reluctance to make any bold changes to the roster or coaching staff in-season makes the outlook seem all the more bleak. The team sure feels like they’re stuck with what they got, so it’s up to them to step up and make a run in the latter three quarters of the season.
