White Sox Farm Report: June 11, 2025

by Brendan Gallian

On Tuesday, the Cannon Ballers were the only Sox affiliate that failed to win. Wednesday, Kannapolis was the sole victor on the minor league slate. Bats fell silent across the system, with all five teams that played combining for just five runs on the day.

Grant Umberger, Tommy Vail, and Mathias LaCombe turned in strong starts, George Wolkow homered for the second-straight night, and Colson Montgomery recorded a hit in his return.

All this and more in today’s minor league recap!

Triple-A Charlotte Knights (32-33)

Colson Montgomery, back in the Knights’ lineup for the first time since June 5, notched an RBI single in his return. It was one of just four hits the team had in the game, along with a pair of singles by Brooks Baldwin and one by Zach DeLoach.

FINAL: Knights 1, Durham Bulls 5 | Box Score

Double-A Birmingham Barons (32-26)

After last night’s 13-run outburst, Birmingham’s bats fell silent tonight. The Barons tallied six hits and drew three walks, but failed to plate any runs in a 1-0 loss.

Tommy Vail spun 5.1 shutout innings, while Jared Kelley struck out three over 1.2 frames in relief.

FINAL: Barons 0, Montgomery Biscuits 1 | Box Score

High-A Winston Salem Dash (22-37)

The Dash managed only two hits in a blowout loss. Weston Eberly’s first home run of the season was the only offense present.

FINAL: Dash 1, Bowling Green Hot Rods 10 | Box Score

Low-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (32-27)

Grant Umberger ran his record to 5-0 with seven shutout innings. Since joining the Ballers’ rotation, the southpaw owns a sterling 1.10 ERA in six starts.

At the plate, George Wolkow went deep for the second consecutive game. Wolkow’s two-run shot was more than enough run support for Umberger, Hale Sims, and Jonathan Clark, who combined to blank the Columbia Fireflies.

FINAL: Cannon Ballers 2, Columbia Fireflies 0 | Box Score

ACL White Sox (14-14)

In Arizona, Mathias LaCombe lowered his ERA to 3.68 with four innings of one-run ball. The French starter also brought his WHIP to an even 1.00 in his first taste of affiliated action.

FINAL: ACL White Sox 1, ACL Dodgers 3 | Box Score

DSL White Sox (4-2)

The DSL Sox had the day off. The team is back in action on Thursday against the DSL Mariners.
