White Sox Farm Report: July 4, 2025

by Brendan Gallian

While fireworks exploded overhead yesterday, there were few down on the farm. Sox affiliates went 0-6 on the day.

Hagen Smith punched out five and Ryan Galanie went deep for the Barons, and Jake Bockenstedt logged his second quality start of the season.

All this and more in today’s minor league recap!

Triple-A Charlotte Knights (42-43)

Knights’ bats fell silent after the team’s 10-run outburst Thursday. Charlotte mustered just four hits in the shutout loss. On the mound, reigning International League Pitcher of the Week Yoendrys Gómez fired five innings of one-run ball.

FINAL: Knights 0, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 4 | Box Score

Double-A Birmingham Barons (42-37)

The Barons jumped out to an early 7-0 lead thanks in part to Ryan Galanie’s three-run homer. As the game progressed, the Chattanooga Lookouts chipped away at Birmingham’s lead. The Barons failed to score after the second inning, and lost via a walk-off single. Hagen Smith struck out five over 2.2 innings.

FINAL: Barons 7, Chattanooga Lookouts 8 | Box Score

High-A Winston-Salem Dash (29-49)

Winston Salem surrendered eight runs in the bottom of the eighth, squandering Jake Bockenstedt’s seven-strikeout quality start. Braden Montgomery notched a double, and Sam Antonacci stole his 24th base of the season.

FINAL: Dash 5, Hub City Spartanburgers 10 | Box Score

Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (36-43)

Kannapolis managed eight hits, three from T.J. McCants, but just one run in their loss to the Hickory Crawdads. Lyle Miller-Green had a pair of hits, as well.

FINAL: Cannon Ballers 1, Hickory Crawdads 7 | Box Score

ACL White Sox (25-21)

Noah Syndergaard made his second start with the organization, turning in four scoreless innings. The veteran fanned four while allowing one hit and walking none.

FINAL: ACL White Sox 4, ACL Brewers 7 | Box Score

DSL White Sox (10-13)

The DSL Sox found themselves down 6-0 after two innings and were unable to come back. Alan Escobar drove in the team’s first run with his first double of the season.
