White Sox Farm Report: July 3, 2025

While both the Knights and Barons earned wins on Thursday, the big news on the farm was Colson Montgomery‘s call-up. The shortstop is expected to join the Sox in Colorado.

Meanwhile, Tim Elko launched a grand slam for the Knights, Shane Murphy dazzled in his start in Birmingham, and Samuel Zavala went deep for the Dash.

Triple-A Charlotte Knights (42-42)

In their first game after Colson Montgomery’s call-up, the Knights doubled-up the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 10-5. Tim Elko paced the offense with three hits, including a grand slam. Corey Julks and Jacob Amaya also went deep.

Noah Schultz made his third AAA start. The southpaw conceded four runs over four innings while striking out four and walking three.

Double-A Birmingham Barons (42-36)

Colby Smelley slugged the Barons’ first home run since Calvin Harris went deep on June 20. It proved the difference Thursday as Birmingham clipped the Chattanooga Lookouts 2-1.

Shane Murphy turned in eight innings of one-run ball, but was left with no decision. Zach Franklin earned the win when Caden Conor launched walk-off single to center.

High-A Winston Salem Dash (29-48)

The Dash jumped out to an early lead on Samuel Zavala’s sixth home run of the season, but couldn’t hang on, falling 9-7 in ten innings. Adisyn Coffey — rehabbing with the Dash — fired a clean inning in relief.

Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (36-42)

The Ballers were unable to overcome an early 4-0 hole. Ryan Burrowes and T.J. McCants each had a pair of hits in the loss. Jonathan Clark punched out three over 1.2 innings.

ACL White Sox (25-20)

The ACL Sox fell to the ACL Dodgers 7-2. Arnold Prado and Drake Logan each had a pair of hits.

DSL White Sox (10-12)

The DSL Sox suffered a decisive loss at the hands of the DSL Blue Jays Blue. Every Sox pitcher surrendered at least one run in the 7-1 defeat. The Sox scored their lone run on a Yordani Soto RBI groundout.
