Sox affilaites were homer-happy on Wednesday, with seven different players combining to leave the yard six times. Caleb Bonemer hit two homers, while Ryan Galanie, Michael Turner, Javier Mogollon, James Taussig, and Kyle Lodise also going deep.
Bonemer and Alec Briley led the Barons to a walk-off win, Turner and Galanie powered a Knights’ blowout victory, and Ballers’ pitching fired a seven-inning shoutout in a doubleheader split.

Triple-A Charlotte Knights (57-47)
The Knights used a seven-run fourth inning to drown out the Nashville Sounds 12-5 on Wednesday. Michael Turner put an exclamation mark on the slugfest of an inning with a three-run homer, his eighth of the season.
Ryan Galanie also went deep in the win, sending his 17th homer of the year to straightaway center. New addition Eric Haase had an impressive day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBI.
On the mound, Jonathan Cannon worked six innings of one-run ball after a pair of openers preceded him. Cannon has now put together back-to-back appearances of at least six innings and no more than one run, and has three such outings over his last five games.

Double-A Birmingham Barons (38-60)
Alec Briley sent Barons’ fans home happy Wednesday with a walk-off double after the team squandered a 6-4 ninth-inning lead. The infielder formerly known as Makarewicz is now slashing .303/.349/.538 this season after taking his wife’s last name (as opposed to .230/.308/.467 before).
Not to be lost in Briley’s heroics, Caleb Bonemer drilled a pair of homers — his seventh and eighth with the Barons —in the win. The Sox’ top prospect drove in four of Birmingham’s seven runs and drew a pair of walks.

High-A Winston-Salem Dash (54-44)
Despite five scoreless innings from Justin Sinibaldi and homers from Javier Mogollon, James Taussig, and Kyle Lodise, the Dash fell 8-6 to the Brooklyn Cyclones on a three-run, walk-off homer.
Winston-Salem jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings thanks in part to Lodise’s 13th longball of the year. Brooklyn scored four in the sixth to tie things up, but Taussig and Mogollon each drilled solo shots across the final three frames to put the Dash back in front.

Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (49-49)
The Ballers split a doubleheader against the Salem RidgeYaks, falling 7-2 in game one before taking game two 1-0. The RidgeYaks were all over Truman Pauley in the opener, scoring seven runs off of the right-hander.
Kannapolis’ pitching turned a complete 180 in game two, with Gabriel Rodriguez and Blaine Wynk blanking the Yaks. Steven Lancia drove in the game’s only run with a fourth-inning sac fly.
