Sox fans, we hope you’re not getting tired of hearing Caleb Bonemer‘s name. The 20-year-old continues to mash with High-A Winston-Salem, blasting another homer Tuesday to total six on the year in an 8-4 Dash win.
Other big names were active as well, with Hagen Smith finally suffering a rough start to the tune of 2.1 IP, 1 ER, and 5 BBs. The Double-A Barons’ outfield kept hitting, though, with Braden Montgomery reaching base twice and youngster Samuel Zavala going yard on top of two other on-base appearances.
Elsewhere, Jarred Kelenic blasted a grand slam for Triple-A Charlotte, Jordan Sprinkle went off for Birmingham, and scorching hot Colby Shelton notched a walk and a single for the Dash. Shelton’s teammate, Anthony DePino, and Low-A Kannapolis’ Javier Mogollon each stuffed the stat sheet too.
Finally, we must commend Baron’s pitching for their shutout, with Cade McCullough, Mark McLaughlin, Eric Adler, and Jared Kelley combining for just two hits allowed.
