New day, new Charlotte Knights victory! Now 4-1 on the season, the Knights backed up another Noah Schultz gem with 9 runs, breaking things open in the ninth inning to ice the 9-3 victory.
Schultz was dominant once more, striking out five in five innings and allowing just three baserunners. His season line is absolutely sparkling: 9.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 K, 97 pitches. That’s good for a 1.00 ERA and 0.44 WHIP.
As for the bats, Sam Antonacci got on base twice for the fifth time in five games, while William Bergolla Jr. continued to impress with three base knocks of his own alongside a run and an RBI. Wikelman González struggled a bit in relief, but Zach Franklin and Adisyn Coffey closed the ballgame down smoothly with a combined clean 2.1 innings pitched.
