It’s been a busy two weeks for potential White Sox draft prospects.
Here’s a recap of performances from the biggest names in this year’s class!
Roch Cholowsky (SS) – UCLA
MLB Pipeline Ranking: 1
Roch has cooled off noticeably since his hot start to the season, not seeing a multi-hit game during these past two weeks. Now, he has nearly identical stat totals to his shortstop counterpart in Justin Lebron, who spent the last two weeks finally recording hits that were not home runs. Cholowsky could easily find his stride again as Big Ten play continues.

Justin Lebron SS, Alabama
MLB Pipeline Ranking: 3
While Lebron did catch up this week to Cholowsky from a numbers standpoint, it wasn’t anything revolutionary, but a solid patchwork of performances over time. He did significant damage against Oregon State, Houston, and Iowa, and his strikeouts finally fell. Additionally, he broke from an odd pattern of striking out or hitting the ball so far over the wall that it was hard to tell what zip code it finally stopped in.
Lebron continuing these streaks will absolutely cement him at second to the Rays, but whether or not the Sox see more in him than Cholowsky is something we won’t know until closer to draft night.

Joseph Contreras (RHP) – Team Brazil (WBC)
Jose Contreras’ 17-year-old son, Joseph, shocked the baseball world when he entered Friday’s World Baseball Classic game in the 2nd inning. Though he struggled with command and put himself in a bases-loaded situation, the high schooler was able to get Aaron Judge to shatter his bat and ground into an inning-ending double play. The moment kept Brazil within one of the lead, though the United States would later pull away and put an exclamation mark on their opening game with a seven-run ninth inning.
Currently committed to Vanderbilt University, Contreras could be a name for White Sox fans to watch after the first round.
Myles Bailey (1B) – Florida State
The White Sox’s 2025 20th-round pick has continued to mash for Florida State. He hit a 109 mph home run on Saturday for the Seminoles for his fifth of the year. He has also recorded a multi-homer game against North Florida back on February 25th.
Aidan Teel (OF) – Mississippi State
The brother of White Sox catcher Kyle Teel, Aidan, launched a no-doubt home run for the Bulldogs against Arizona State in Arlington. It was his second-straight game with a dinger after going yard against Austin Peay three days earlier.
Frank Thomas III
Nicknamed “Lil Hurt”, Frank Thomas III impressed at the Perfect Game High School Showcase a couple of weeks ago with a three-homer performance. The high schooler is committed to Auburn University, where he’ll follow in his father’s footsteps.
Austin Pierzynski (C) – UAB
A.J. Pierzynski‘s kid notched his first multi-hit game on February 27 against Jacksonville and homered for the second time this season the following day.
