Another promotion has been added to the White Sox’ upcoming schedule, and it’s a magical one.
In a social media post on Wednesday, the White Sox teased an upcoming Magic Wand giveaway with self-proclaimed wizard Mike Vasil front and center. The first 20,000 fans will receive the exclusive replica on Friday, September 4 as the team takes on the Minnesota Twins.

In the video, Vasil is called into a meeting with a group that includes Will Venable and Chris Getz. The White Sox’ GM starts by joking that the Commissioner’s Office has reached out because the wand has made them “super uncomfortable.”
“I would imagine maybe some other teams have gotten uncomfortable about it, so we’ve got to change something up,” Getz tells Vasil. “What are your thoughts on that?”
A visibly confused Vasil nervously responded, “Like, get rid of the wand?”
That’s when Getz called over third base coach Justin Jirschele, who delivered the news.
“The problem is, we need more wands,” Jirschele says. “How does 20,000 sound for our fans?”
Vasil and the group laughed it off and celebrated his first official giveaway promotion with the club.
“September 4, we’re doing a wand giveaway,” Mike Vasil said in a follow-up video. “You got to bring your A-game. Bring your magic. I know something magical will happen that night. Here we go.”
The team sent out a mass email to alert fans, coinciding with the announcement on social media. Tickets are available on the team’s website here.
