Despite the recent announcement of MLB’s labor lockout, we’re not slowing down here at Sox On 35th. In fact, we are excited to bring you a new partnership that will help you get your White Sox content.

Beginning today, December 3rd, Sox On 35th will be joining forces with Chris Lanuti and Ed Siebert of the Sox In The Basement Podcast. Both Chris and Ed are well-versed in the broadcasting industry, and we are excited to bring their years of experience, professionalism, unique insights, and love of the White Sox to our fans.

If you’re unfamiliar with Sox in the Basement, here’s a quick intro from Chris Lanuti himself:

“A few years back, the White Sox sat in the basement of Major League Baseball. That’s when two friends started a 30-minute podcast from a basement bar on the South Side. As the White Sox grew, Sox In The Basement grew into the podcast ‘For Fans, By Fans,’ and now brings you new episodes twice per week.

Pull up a stool at our 9-foot homemade oak bar and join myself, Ed, and a wide array of knowledgeable guests, talking nothing but White Sox baseball.”

Chris and Ed got started in broadcasting back in the mid-’90s at WPGU-FM in Champaign-Urbana, IL. First, Ed worked for Chris on his morning show. Then, Chris worked for Ed when he became his program director. At some point, this is when they first “interviewed” Jerry Reinsdorf after convincing his secretary that he was expecting their call, only to complain to him about letting Robin Ventura slip away to sign with the Mets.

Chris went on to host multiple top-rated morning radio programs in various markets from coast to coast. Ed continued his own path in radio, as well, until they opted out of broadcasting as they got older. In 2008, both joined forces for the first time in nearly a decade to try out podcasting. Now, the two old friends get to spend their time talking about their favorite team on Sox In The Basement.

So let’s get into what this partnership means for both sides. Starting with the podcasts: Sox In The Basement is now the official podcast of Sox On 35th, replacing our long-time Sox On 35th Podcast. The show will continue to be hosted by the duo of Chris Lanuti and Ed Siebert while appearing on all of its current streaming platforms. In addition, listeners can now expect to hear one of our Sox On 35th contributors weekly as part of their shows to discuss recent articles, topics, and more!

As for our websites, all written content from Sox In The Basement – including Ed’s infamous “Mismatched Sox” series – will now appear here at Sox On 35th. Fans can also expect to find easy access to the Sox In The Basement Podcast and additional media content from both sides as we get going.

Our site has always been dedicated to bringing you the best White Sox content around, and we believe this partnership with Sox in the Basement only adds to this goal. We are excited for the new opportunities that this partnership brings – make sure to look out for unique content and special events in the future.

As for now, let’s welcome Chris and Ed to the Sox On 35th Family!
