Simulated Sox: Royals vs. White Sox, April 21st

Chalk this up under the list of things you absolutely hate to see if you’re a Royals fan. The White Sox offense literally exploded to drop a cool 16 on Jakob Junis and the Kansas City pitching staff in a monster win.

Let’s keep it somewhat brief here because the story of the game was the long-ball. Eloy Jimenez and Edwin Encarnacion each crushed a grand slam. It was Encarnacion’s fourth home run in four days, and one of two bombs Eloy had in the game. The two Sox players, believe it or not, are now tied for second in the league with nine home runs, just one behind Boston’s J.D. Martinez. Yasmani Grandal also connected on one to dead center in the fifth.

On the rubber, Gio Gonzalez had another solid six inning outing, striking out seven while giving up just two. Carson Fulmer then came in and sat everyone down in a perfect, three-inning outing to also earn his first save of the year.

FINAL: White Sox 16, Royals 2
