Simulated Sox: White Sox vs. Giants, May 8th

by Joe Binder

Dylan Cease went seven innings in a sharp outing to kick off another West Coast road trip. Nine runs on thirteen hits from the offense made for easy sailing and a 9-2 win.

The White Sox jumped out to a quick three to nothing run to kick off the beginning of this one. Moncada lined a double to left to bring around Leury Garcia in the first, which was followed by a pair of RBI singles in the second. The Giants would get a run back in the bottom of the second before both teams scored in the fifth to make it 4-2.

The sixth inning was one San Francisco would like back. After pitching around Moncada, Eloy Jimenez would make them pay as he drove in the third baseman along with Jose Abreu using one swing of the bat. The White Sox scored a total of five runs on five hits and two walks, a disaster of an inning for the Giants who fell behind 9-2, which held for the rest of the game.

FINAL: White Sox 9, Giants 2
