Simulated Sox: Rangers vs. White Sox, April 19th

Lance Lynn had his best start of the season to finally put an end to the Rangers’ losing streak. He struck out nine batters over eight innings, and limited the Sox to just three hits en route to a 4-1 win.

The only run of the game for the White Sox came in the bottom of the second when Edwin Encarnacion hit his second home run in as many days. It was the only mistake Lynn had given up all evening on the mound, making it difficult for the offense to really do anything at the plate. With Edwin’s home run, the score was tied 1-1.

The Rangers jumped on top in the fourth after our old-friend Todd Frazier drove in Joey Gallo with a sac fly to Adam Engel in right. A pair of blasts from Ronald Guzman and Rougned Odor over the course of the next few innings added another two runs to the Texas lead, which was now 4-1.

Down by three runs late, the White Sox were threatening in their last chance at the plate. Leury Garcia singled to right, and was followed by a Pito daily double down the line in right. Unfortunately, nothing ever came out of this due to a poor send by Nick Capra at third, leaving Garcia dead in his tracks to end the game. A brutal way to end it, especially with Encarnacion marking the tying run up next.

FINAL: Rangers 4, White Sox 1
