In the last game of the regular season, the Sox fell short in the 9th inning to Detroit 5-2.
Dylan Cease had a decent afternoon, as he allowed one run in four innings. He currently ranks 3rd in the AL in strikeouts and 10th in ERA.
On the offense, Luis Robert did what Luis Robert does best, with a solo home run in the bottom of the 1st. The Sox tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th after Andrew Vaughn singled through the infield scoring Adam Engel. The Tigers took the lead at the top of the 9th after Daz Cameron took Reynaldo Lopez deep.
With the loss, the Sox end the regular season with a record of 93-69.

Luis Robert put the Sox on the board early in the first inning with a 430 ft home run to left-center field. His 117.7 MPH shot is the hardest-hit homer by a Sox hitter since at least 2015.
Andrew Vaughn: 1-for-4, 1 RBI, BB
After Adam Engel led off with a double, Vaughn came in clutch with a single to tie the game. Vaughn is now hitting .235 for the season.
