The White Sox’ bats came alive on Thursday at Camelback Ranch, but it still wasn’t enough to take down the Dodgers.
Tanner Murray and Curtis Mead helped supply the power for the offense, each homering to the lawn in left. Kyle Teel also notched his first extra-base hit of Cactus League play in the form of a double, while George Wolkow turned on the jets in the top of the eighth inning for an RBI triple.
On the bump, Sean Newcomb made his first appearance in a White Sox uniform. The lefty surrendered two earned runs on four hits, striking out a pair and walking one over his two innings of work. Chris Murphy later followed by giving up another two earned over the next three innings, while Tyson Miller chalked up three more runs in just two-thirds of an inning.
