2021 Spring Training Report: White Sox Fall in Opener 7-2

by Jordan Lazowski

Only a couple regulars made their debut in this afternoon’s Cactus League Opener, while the Brewers crushed three home runs en route to a 7-2 victory.

Position Players

Not too many highlights from the position players today; Adam Engel’s two-run first inning homer paces the offense. However, it was nice to see Jake Burger back in action for the first time in awhile. Blake Rutherford, Micker Adolfo, and Luis Gonzalez were also notable names in action.

Pitchers

Similar to the hitters, not too much to look at here. However, after watching the game, Jacob Lindgren and Bennett Sousa are definitely two names to watch – both have really good stuff that needs some refinement.

Next Game

Monday, 3/1: White Sox vs. Angels; Alex McRae vs. TBD

**This game is not available on TV, unless you are a subscriber to MLB.TV – if you are, then you can watch the Angels’ Fox Sports West broadcast (subject to blackout restrictions).
