The Best of White Sox Twitter: August 21-28

by Joe Binder

Happy Saturday, Sox fans! Between last weekend’s Cubs series to Lucas Giolito’s no-hitter, there’s been a lot happening in the world of White Sox baseball that’s resulted in some great tweets.

Before we get to them, I just want to remind you of something I mentioned in last week’s article. We will be having an additional piece in the coming days dedicated to the top tweets of the month. The highest voted tweets from each category in this installation and the two previous will go head-to-head in one giant poll to determine August’s best tweet. The winner of that poll will not only receive a pair of our koozies but also advance to the “Tweet of the Year” round in December.

Make sure you’re voting for your favorites below and stay tuned for the special monthly poll on Monday. Now, let’s take a look at this week’s top tweets!

Humor

This is where we encourage you to go for the laughs. Since this category is almost always going to be the most selective of the few, you’ve got to be on your A-game to land here.

Last week’s winner: Bennett Karoll (@thebennettk)

If you like to dive deep into the stats or make close observations about various aspects of the team, this is the category for you!

Passion, Pride, and Tradition

The root of what it means to be a member of the White Sox and a fan of the team. These are a collection of tweets that don’t necessarily check the box for our humor and analysis categories. Sometimes, they can be emotional takes about how we’re all feeling during a certain game. Other times, they can be as simple as a positive statement or a personal creation like a painting or graphic design. It’ll vary from week to week but I think you get the gist.

Last week’s winner: Tie between Sox On Tap (@SoxOnTap) and Alyssa Bergamini (@AlyssaBergamini)

Verified Accounts

Pretty self-explanatory here. This category is reserved for your favorite verified accounts and media members.
