Simulated Sox: White Sox vs. Twins, ALDS Games 3 & 4

by Joe Binder

In case you may have missed it, we’ve jumped ahead in our White Sox simulated season due to the looming return of actual baseball. The fast-forward now brings us to the ALDS against the Minnesota Twins, where Ricky’s boys have a 2-0 series lead.

The White Sox traveled to Minnesota needing only one game to clinch an ALCS berth but dropped the ball twice, losing on back-to-back days.

ALDS Game 3 was a great back-and-forth battle until it wasn’t. After Dallas Keuchel gave up three in the first inning, Ricky’s boys managed to pull ahead by one in the fourth. Gio Gonzalez, unfortunately, laid an egg in relief not long after and Michael Kopech fried it, as the Twins scored a combined 10 runs the rest of the way.

ALDS Game 3 Final: Twins 13, White Sox 5

ALDS Game 4 looked to be a lot closer on paper, but don’t let the final score fool you. The Sox found themselves down from the get-go after Reynaldo Lopez struggled mightily. Seven runs given up within the first four innings was too much to overcome as a three-run ninth-inning rally was too little, too late.

ALDS Game 4 Final: Twins 7, White Sox 5

ALDS Game 5 is coming your way on Sunday with a broadcast from our pals over at Sox In The Basement included.
