Stats On 35th – Let’s Break this One Down by the Numbers

Today’s Numbers:

25.1

Today’s MVP in terms of Win Probability Added is a tie between Jermaine Dye and Luis Vizcaino with 25.1 percentage points. Vizcaino threw a pair of shutout innings while Dye drove in six runs, both key factors for the win.

Tampa Bay’s starting pitcher Hideo Nomo gave up eight earned runs in just four innings in this one. According to Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago, he never had an ERA lower than 5.00 against an AL Central team, besides the Royals. This game certainly didn’t help.
