2020 White Sox Schedule: Dates, Times, and Opponents Released

by Joe Binder

It’s here! Major League Baseball has revealed the shortened 2020 schedule, with the first couple of games set to begin on July 23rd. For the White Sox, their Opening Day won’t come until the following day on Friday, July 24th, vs. the Minnesota Twins in a 7:10 PM CT game at home.

Due to the divisional realignments, Ricky’s boys will be playing 40 games against the AL Central and 20 games against the NL Central – 6 of those coming against the Cubs. One major takeaway upon first glance is the home and road splits with opponents, particularly the Twins. Seven of the team’s ten games against Minnesota and Detroit will be at home, which plays just fine. Likewise, the Sox will have to spend seven of their ten games against Cleveland and Kansas City on the road. As Sox Machine’s Josh Nelson pointed out, these games will be key in determining the outcome of the season.

Let’s take a full look at the schedule! (Note: All times are CT)

July

Before the regular season gets underway, the Sox will play a trio of exhibition games. All three will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Chicago, per Ryan McGuffey.

  • July 19 – at Cubs, 7:05 PM
  • July 20 – Cubs, 7:10 PM
  • July 22 – Brewers, 7:10 PM

Opening Day is part of a three-game series against the division-rival Twins at Guaranteed Rate Field.
